We are open for bookings! And we are very excited about starting back on Monday 5th September!

Our last week of camps is the week of Monday 15th – Friday 19th August and we have just a couple of places left in our Junior (6-8yrs) Camp in the mornings 10-1pm, and our Senior (9-11yrs) Camp in the afternoons 2-5pm.  The children have had a wonderful Summer with Ciara and Ali Lyons and Allanah Scully as their teachers, along with our wonderful teen assistants!

Each camp is limited to 20 children to provide a safe, nurturing environment , with plenty of individual attention for each child.

We have had a wonderfully successful 2015-2016 with the opening of our venues in Stillorgan, Belarmine and Sandyford.  We would have been very happy to half-fill them in the first year but in fact most classes are completely full and we have waiting lists for September for most classes, particularly in Stillorgan.  Thank you all for your support and for spreading the word among your friends. We are getting great feedback from parents who have seen significant progress with their children’s social skills, self esteem and ability to assert themselves.  The children seem to love their classes and are having so much fun, as are we!

This September we are developing the school a little more.  We are opening in Mounttown Community Centre which is beside McCormack’s Pub in Monkstown/Dunlaoghaire.  We are also delighted to have secured a place in the brand new beautiful Community Centre in Ballyogen in Carrickmines.  Classes in Ballyogen will replace the classes in Belarmine and Sandyford Community Centre.  So our classes will take place in four venues –

Patrician Centre, Stillorgan, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat.

Ballyogen Community Centre, Carrickmines, Wed, Thurs

Mounttown Community Centre, Monkstown/Dunlaoghaire, Mon, Tues, Thurs

Glencullen Community Centre, Mon, Thurs

NEW TWO HOUR MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES!

In addition to our ‘Building Confidence classes’ two of our venues, Mounttown and Ballyogen Com. Centres will offer a new two-hour Musical Theatre class.  With one hour of music/drama and an hour of hip hop dance, this class will be similar to a stage-school type class but will not have as many in the classes as most stage schools, which is in keeping with our ethos of providing a genuine caring and nurturing environment with the well-being of each child taking centre-stage with us at all times!

HIP HOP CLASSES FOR ALL AGES!

We already have a huge interest in our new Hip Hop classes in September.  They will be available for all ages from 6yrs to adults (including teens).  We have the best professional dancers in Ireland to teach these classes and judging by the phenomenal demand for the Hip Hop Dance Workshops we have been running for the last few months, I have no doubt that these classes will fill very quickly.

We have two camps scheduled this year –

Both are for ages 4 – 11yrs,  children will be split into two age groups – 3-6yrs & 7-11yrs.

9.30am-1pm Mon – Fri with a short performance on the final day.

Our new venues have had an overwhelming reaction and we are delighted to announce that we have created even more classes to our timetable!  More guitar class times on Monday, more Saturday classes and more adult courses too.  Because of this demand, Mel is always on the look-out for very special people to join our team of teachers. Teachers must hold a qualification and have experience in drama/musical theatre, ideally have trained in early childhood studies and most importantly have a genuine love of little people, along with the passion to develop their skills for the inevitable challenges of life.  CV’s can be sent to melryanschool@gmail.com.

We have just one place left on this course starting Monday 12th October, 7.30-9pm for 8 weeks in Sandyford Community Centre.  Would you like to develop the confidence to deliver a speech, a presentation or a party-piece? Are you interested in exploring the world of acting and performance? This course guarantees lots of fun, a safe environment in a small group of six, where participants have an opportunity to practise and gain valuable feedback while learning tips and techniques for overcoming the fear of being in the spotlight in whatever form.  Contact Mel 086 8372364

Well tomorrow we open in Belarmine Community Centre, Stepaside and Patrician Centre, Stillorgan, and on Thursday we open in Sandyford Community Centre – our three new venues this year!  We are absolutely delighted with the response to our advertising campaign and classes are almost full in all venues.  We do have some places left though so if you are interested, please give me a call on 086 8372364.

We have just one place left on our Drama, Performance & Presentations Skills for Adults course which will start week commencing 12th October and will run for 8 weeks.

We are offering guitar lessons on Monday evenings in Patrician Centre, Stillorgan for children and have just a couple of places left.

Welcome to our fabulous new teacher Astrid Courtney who joins us this week.  Astrid has over twelve years of experience teaching children drama, has a special, wonderful magic with children and a passion for building their self-esteem.  I am absolutely delighted to have her on-board!

A huge congratulations to our gorgeous Musical Theatre teacher Sarah Thornton and her husband Gavin on the birth of their beautiful baby Meghan Grace.  Sarah will be back with us after Christmas, in the meantime, Grace Kinirons and I will be taking the Musical Theatre classes.

We are very excited about seeing all our students again over the next two weeks and equally looking forward to meeting lots of new little people and getting to know each and every one of their personalities.  We want you, as parents, to feel that when your children are enrolled in our school, that they are a part of something special, that they are learning to believe in themselves, to believe that they are capable of so much more than they realise and that they are building the crucial resilience that they will need when faced with the inevitable challenges that life will bring.
